I wanted to post my Cherry Coconut Lime Ch Ch Ch Chia Fresca recipe for you enjoyment.
This replaces the traditional fresca recipe that has a ton of sugar in it – use this as an afternoon energizing refreshment(instead of the dreaded soda) or as a sports drink (in place of the sugar laden/ chemically added sports drinks)
The coconut water has tons of electrolytes, natural sugars from cherry juice (plus has recovery benefits) and the chia seeds – well are just fantastic! Full of omega 3 fatty acids & complete vegan protein – more on chia benefits later. Enjoy!
5 oz coconut water
5 oz cherry juice
6 oz water
2 Tbsp lime
5 Tbsp chia seeds
1 tsp honey powder or small amount of stevia to taste
Directions:
Combine all ingredients in a container and let sit for at least ½ hour. Chia seeds will absorb the water and become gelatinous. Shake when ready to drink. Enjoy!
Makes 16 oz.
